Qiao joined the School of Chemical Engineering of the University of
Adelaide in March 2012 as a professor (the inaugural Chair of
Nanotechnology). His research expertise is in nanomaterials and
functional materials for new energy technologies (electrocatalysis,
photocatalysis, batteries, fuel cell, supercapacitors). He has
co-authored more than 370 papers in refereed journals, including Nature,
Nature Energy, Nature Materials, Nature Chemistry, Nature
Communications, Angew Chem Int Ed, J. Am. Chem. Soc, Advanced Materials
(over 37,000 citations, h-index: 100). He has filed three patents on
novel nanomaterials and attracted more than 11 million dollars in
research grants from industrial partners and Australian Research Council
.In recognition of his achievements in research, he was honoured with a
prestigious ARC Laureate Fellow , ExxonMobil Award , ARC Discovery
Outstanding Researcher Award (DORA, 2013), a Emerging Researcher Award
(2013, ENFL Division of the American Chemical Society) and a UQ
Foundation Research Excellence Award . He has also been awarded an ARC
ARF Fellowship, an ARC APD Fellowship and an inaugural UQ Mid-Career
Research Fellowship.Dr Qiao is an Associate Editor of Journal of
Materials Chemistry A, a Fellow of Institution of Chemical Engineers ,
Royal Society of Chemistry and Royal Australian Chemical Institute . Dr
Qiao is a Clarivate Analytics/Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researcher in
two categories (Chemistry, Materials Science).

Professor J. Lam received a first class BSc degree in Mechanical
Engineering from the University of Manchester in 1983, and was awarded
the Ashbury Scholarship, the A.H. Gibson Prize, and the H. Wright Baker
Prize for his academic performance. He later obtained the MPhil and PhD
degrees from the University of Cambridge in 1985 and 1988, respectively.
For his doctoral and post-doctoral research, he was supported by the
Croucher Foundation Scholarship and Fellowship . He is the recipient of
an Outstanding Researcher Award of the University of Hong Kong.

Prior to joining the University of Hong Kong in 1993, Professor Lam held
lectureships at now the City University of Hong Kong and the University
of Melbourne. He was a Visiting Fellow of the Research School of
Physical Sciences and Engineering, Australian National University.
Professor Lam has close academic association with a number of
universities in Mainland China. He is Guest Professor of Huazhong
University of Science and Technology, Shandong University, Central South
University, Harbin Institute of Technology, and was Concurrent Professor
of the Northeastern University, Consulting Professor of South China
University of Technology.

On the professional service side, Professor Lam is a Chartered
Mathematician, Chartered Scientist, Fellow of Institute of Mathematics
and Its Applications, Fellow of Institution of Engineering and
Technology, Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers, and Associate Member of Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
He also joined other learned societies as Fellow of the Cambridge
Philosophical Society and Fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Society.
Professor Lam is Associate Editor of Asian Journal of Control,
International Journal of Systems Science, International Journal of
Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, IEEE Transactions on Signal
Processing, Journal of the Franklin Institute, Automatica, Conference
Editorial Board of the IEEE Control Systems Society, Subject Editor of

and Applications, Open Electrical and Electronic Engineering Journal,

Professor X. Chris Le

Professor Lam has research interests in model reduction, robust control
and filtering, delay, singular systems, Markovian jump systems, and
multidimensional systems. He has published a monograph entitled Robust
Control and Filtering of Singular Systems
(co-authored with S. Xu) and
over 250 journal articles in these areas.

Environmental Health. He is Distinguished University Professor in the
Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, and is an adjunct
professor in Chemistry and Public Health Sciences. He is the Director of
Analytical and Environmental Toxicology Division.

报告人简介:

Dr. Le received his BSc degree in Chemistry from Wuhan University, where
he started research on inductively coupled plasma optical emission
spectrometry for the determination of rare earth elements. He received
two MSc degrees, one in Environmental Chemistry from Research Center for
Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Science, and the other in
Analytical Chemistry from Brock University. He developed direct current
plasma and atomic absorption techniques that were applied to the
certification of standard reference materials for trace elements. He
obtained PhD in Environmental/Analytical Chemistry from the University
of British Columbia. His PhD research with William Cullen on arsenic
speciation resulted in a better understanding of the environmental fate
and human metabolism of arsenic compounds such as arsenosugars. He spent
a year as a Killam postdoctoral fellow with Norm Dovichi at the
University of Alberta, where he studied enzymatic hydrolysis of
oligosaccharides in single yeast cells.

Dr. Le’s current research is on bioanalytical chemistry and
environmental toxicology. He has published more than 200 research
articles on bioanalytical techniques for environmental and health
research, assessment of human exposure to environmental contaminants,
and detection of proteins and DNA damage. His collaborative work on the
determination of arsenic species, assays for trace amounts of proteins
and DNA damage, and new approaches to studies of protein and DNA binding
have enabled novel environmental and biological studies.

Dr. Shi-Zhang Qiao is currently a professor (Chair of Nanotechnology) at
School of Chemical Engineering of the University of Adelaide. His
research expertise is in nanostructured materials for new energy
technologies including electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, fuel cell,
supercapacitor and batteries. He has co-authored more than 300 papers in
refereed journals (over 31,000 citations with h-index 90), including
Nature, Nature Materials, Nature Energy, Nature Communications, J. Am.
Chem. Soc, Angew. Chem., Adv. Mater.. He has filed several patents and
has attracted more than 12.0 million dollars in research grants from
industrial partners and Australian Research Council .

Dr Kewen Li Senior researcher of Energy Engineering Department, Stanford
University

Dr. Le is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Academy of
Science. He has received an E.W.R. Steacie Fellowship from the Natural
Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. He received the
W.A.E. McBryde Medal , the Maxxam Award (Analytical Chemistry) , and the
Environment Research and Development Award from the Canadian Society for
Chemistry. He also received the Martha Cook Piper Research Prize and the
Award for Excellence in Mentoring from the University of Alberta. Dr. Le
has trained more than 80 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
Twenty of his trainees currently hold independent academic positions in
Canada, China, Turkey, and the United States.

Prof. Qiao was honoured with a prestigious ARC Australian Laureate

Professor Xing-Fang Li

Prof. Qiao is a Fellow of Institution of Chemical Engineers , a Fellow
of Royal Society of Chemistry and a Fellow of Royal Australian Chemical
Institute . He is currently an Associate Editor of Journal of Materials
Chemistry A, and is a Thomson Reuters/Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited
Researcher (Chemistry, Materials Science).

Lifetime Member of SCA (Society of Core Analysts)

Dr. Xing-Fang Li is Tenured Full Professor at the University of Alberta
with cross appointment in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and in
the School of Public Health. She is the Past Chair of the Environment
Division, Canadian Society for Chemistry. Her diverse research deals
with analytical and environmental chemistry, focusing on analytical
technology development and applications to drinking water disinfection,
environmental contaminants, microbial pathogens, and molecular
interactions between environmental contaminants and biomolecules.

Dr. Li has received a University Faculty Award from the Natural Sciences
and Engineering Research Council of Canada and a McBryde Medal from the
Canadian Society for Chemistry to recognize “a significant achievement
in pure or applied analytical chemistry”. She was awarded the Annual
KillamProfessorship (2012/2013) and Excellence in Mentoring Award at the
University of Alberta. She is elected Fellow of Chemical Institute of
Canada .

Dr. Li has more than 25 years of experience in petroleum and geothermal
reservoir engineering, including improved oil recovery, prediction of
production performance, multi-phase fluid flow in porous media, fluid
rheology, routine and special core analysis. Dr. Li has published over
100 papers in eminent journals and conferences. Dr. Li also holds two
patents and is the author of two books. He is the recipient of the
Outstanding Technical Editor Award by SPE in 2003. He has received three
Best Paper Awards from the Geothermal Resources Council .

Dr. Li serves as Associate Editor for Encyclopedia of Analytical
Chemistry and editorial board member for Chemosphere, Journal of
Environmental Sciences, and Environmental Chemistry (in Chinese). She is
also elected Vice Chair and Chair of Gordon Research Conference on Water
Disinfection By-products.

Dr. Li received B.Sc. in Chemistry from Hangzhou University, M.Sc. in
Environmental Chemistry from the Research Centre for Eco-Environmental
Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry
from Brock University , and Ph.D. in Environmental/Analytical Chemistry
from the University of British Columbia, Canada.

Dr. Li is a guest professor at Zhejiang University, Wuhan University,
and the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy
of Sciences . Current projects in Dr. Li’s research group include:
characterizing new drinking water disinfection by-products of
toxicological significance, studying toxicity of emerging water
contaminants, generating DNA aptamers that bind to specific microbial
pathogens, and developing nano-biosensing devices and assays for
detection of microbial infections and environmental contaminants.
